Working with Colors

These soundscapes can be used in energy work, meditation, somatic practice, movement, breathwork, visualization, reflective inquiry, and other client centered modalities. A practitioner may choose a color based on what is being explored in the moment, move through the spectrum in sequence, or simply allow the sound to support whatever begins to emerge during a session.

The music gives each color a distinct atmosphere without asking the listener to have a specific response. Changes in pitch, harmony, rhythm, intensity, repetition, and space can influence how attention moves, while still leaving room for sensation, imagery, emotion, memory, movement, and personal association to unfold in different ways for different people.

The colors can be explored individually or as parts of a larger continuum, offering a way for sound, color, attention, and energetic experience to meet without prescribing what that experience should mean or where it should lead.

  • Working with Colors

Working with Colors explores red through violet as a spectrum of experience, using pitch, harmony, rhythm, texture, density, space, and movement to give each color its own sonic character. The tracks draw from traditional color and chakra associations, including familiar note relationships, while allowing the music to move beyond any one system, with each color unfolding into a broader state of awareness and being.

    Red, Being as Embodiment -
Centered around C, Red brings attention to grounding, physical presence, vitality, and the feeling of being fully here, gradually building from steadiness into movement and aliveness.

    Orange, Being as Relationship -
With D as a recurring tonal home, Orange moves through changing harmonic spaces that create a sense of mirroring, exchange, and fluid response, exploring what happens when self meets other and sensation begins to move into feeling, creativity, and connection.

    Yellow, Being as Agency -
Yellow shifts through changing tonal centers and growing brightness, creating a sense of momentum that supports direction, transformation, self definition, and the movement of energy into choice and action.

    Green, Being as Openness -
Green moves through expansion, contraction, harmony, and uncertainty, creating a heart centered space that can hold compassion, difference, connection, and changing emotional experience without needing to force any one feeling.

    Blue, Being as Resonance -
Blue gradually moves through emergence, withdrawal, and renewed expression before settling more clearly into G, exploring how inner experience can move into sound, communication, and a sense of being heard and received.

    Indigo, Being as Perception -
Indigo shifts through changing harmonic and tonal spaces, inviting a more fluid way of seeing that allows intuition, imagination, discernment, and new patterns of understanding to emerge.

    Violet, Being as Wholeness -
Violet begins with a strong B centered foundation, then gradually opens into broader tonal spaces and finally into near silence, creating a sense of integration, spaciousness, surrender, and connection with something larger than the individual self.
